Over Flowing Cup

Act I — The Confession
I had a woman, I fucked it up,
Not by cheating, but filling her cup.
I tried to lift her, admire her art,
Told her no lies, gave her my heart.
Act II — The Weight
Pushing her business to help her grow,
Was a weight that she didn’t want to know.
She said my cheering made her feel small,
Till the drive to create wasn’t there at all.
By being supportive and holding her up,
I drove away love with an overflowing cup.

Now I’m all alone,
all because I believe, all because I could see.

Act III — Thirty Days
I foughtfor my lifewhile sepsisburned,
A hospital month while her loyalty turned.
I called every day from a bed of pain,
While she looked for ways to break the chain.
She bottled it up and put on a play,
Flashing for strangers and walking away.
Act IV — The Reckoning
I won’t bend my spine or alter my frame,
To fit in the shadow of someone else’s blame.
so fuck her, oohh oohh,
yea, fuck her, oooohhh oooohh.

Now I’m all alone,
all because I believe,

Unbroken, unbent, with nothing to grieve.
