Your Voice: Stream of Consciousness, Psychic Powers, and Sharpening the Sword

First off, I just want to say thank you. Seriously, to all of you who are still here, the ones who waste a moment or two reading my mad ravings and stream of consciousness, you are all appreciated, and I want you to know that.

The Once-a-Week Writing Gauntlet

I started to set myself a challenge today. The mission is simple: come into Google Docs once a week and just write. It doesn’t matter what it is, and for now, the schedule is locked in. It can be anything on my mind.

The whole point is to let my thoughts flow freely again. I’m trying to make sure that all the ideas rattling around in my skull start to come to me in a way that feels more natural. I want to talk about things I find interesting, and I do, regularly, but I want to find a way that makes it feel like you are connecting with me.

Sometimes my writing feels like that, as if I’m there and you’re there, but we’re not quite connected. I understand part of that is just human nature; we’ll never really be 100% connected.

A Quick Detour into Psychic Mayhem

At least, we won’t be connected until we develop psychic powers, anyways. And honestly, that would be a totally fucked up time if it happened now. Could you imagine the things people would hear? Oh my goodness. The world is chaotic enough without knowing what everyone is really thinking.

Turning a Rusty Habit into a Sharpened Tool

Anyways, as I was saying, I’m just trying to get back in the habit. I used to write every single day, and it made a tangible difference in my craft. The daily practice was a sharpener for the mind.

I don’t know if this new challenge is something I’ll eventually do every day, but for now, it’s all about hitting that once-a-week target. It’s about consistency and turning this site back into the sharpener it once was.

Visions of SPORE and the Soul of Art

Maybe I can use this time to post images inspired by my book. They’d be generated with AI, granted, but the inspiration is pure. In a perfect world, I would love to be able to hire an actual artist. The AI is good, but I can’t help but feel like a human would add that little bit of extra soul to the mix.

Speaking of which, the book I’m going to publish, SPORE, was always one of my favorite stories I’ve ever written. It’s full of depth, meaning, and thematic elements. It was so nice to be able to edit it until I truly felt it was “finished”, though I’m sure all authors know that no work is ever truly finished. There are always dust bunnies hiding in the corners of a manuscript.

What’s Next? Taming the LLM Madness

If you stopped by and took a moment to read this, I appreciate you.

Know that I am planning to get back to offering practical strategies for authors on how to use these LLMs. I have the workflow down. The real problem is articulating it in such a way that it doesn’t make me seem like a complete madman. The potential is huge, but the explanation needs to be just right. What creative challenges are you setting for yourself? Let me know in the comments!

Either way, thank you for reading. Be safe, and I will see you later.
