Experience with an AI editor

I had to give it a try. I went onto Google AI and see how much it helped to edit a book. It was an interesting experience. I learned a lot about myself and patience, and I learned the limitations of the platform.

Would I use it again? Of course! I’ve said it before, I’ll say it a million times; the more eyes you can get on your works the more it improves. At the end of the day you are the one who sets the final type. You are the one who says what works and what doesn’t. I find that adding AI into my editing process helps to speed up my writing. For instance, I’m going to post directly below a comparison. That way you can see what I wrote, and how AI attempted to improve it.

Judge for yourself, use what is available and in your means. Write and have fun exploring your own little worlds, and work to improve with every story.

What the AI wrote:

I decided to experiment with Google AI’s editing capabilities on a book manuscript. It was an enlightening experience, teaching me valuable lessons about myself, patience, and the limitations of the platform.

Would I use it again? Absolutely! I firmly believe that multiple perspectives enhance any work. Ultimately, the author retains creative control, deciding what resonates and what doesn’t. I’ve found that incorporating AI into my editing process can significantly streamline my workflow.

Below, I’ve included a direct comparison between my original writing and the AI-generated suggestions. I encourage you to evaluate the results for yourself.

Utilize the tools available to you, write with enjoyment, and strive for continuous improvement in your storytelling.
